AST’s Founders Awarded Entrepreneur of the Year Award for Technology Innovation
Mt. Olive, NJ - June 22, 2007. American Sensor Technologies, Inc. (AST) announces its founders’ receipt of Ernst & Young’s 2007 Entrepreneur of the Year Award for Technology Innovation. Based out of New Jersey, AST designs, manufactures and markets state-of-the-art, high performance MEMS-based pressure sensors, transducers and transmitters. In addition, Macro Sensors, a subsidiary of AST, manufactures position sensors commonly known as LVDT’s. This is the third consecutive year the founders were recognized by Ernst & Young as leading Entrepreneurs. In both 2005 and 2006, they were acknowledged as finalists in Ernst & Young’s Manufacturing sector of the program.
Incorporated in 1997, AST was founded when its three entrepreneurs brought together an ideal set of skills, allowing for a complete, comprehensive management team. Richard Tasker (President and CEO) led the charge for new product developments and manufacturing, while Michael Eldredge (Executive VP and COO/CFO) worked to establish business management along with AST’s financial organization. Additionally, Karmjit Sidhu (VP of Business Development) has diligently strived to advance, as well as implement new sales and marketing strategies for their company. Collectively the owners bring more than 80 years of industry experience, assuring the company’s ability to manage fast-paced business growth, while sustaining frequent introductions of new technologies and products.
